Work hard, brunch harder
A brunch spot in the middle of Budapest that needed a site with as much personality as the room it represents.
Cirkusz is a daytime spot in the middle of Budapest that describes itself as more than just a brunch place, and the site had to carry that without becoming a photo gallery with a phone number attached.
Hospitality sites tend to bury the two things a visitor actually arrived for: what is on the menu, and how to get a table. Everything else is secondary, and most restaurant sites order it exactly backwards.
There was a second story to tell. The kitchen takes its coffee as seriously as its food — the house espresso is Bagira, another brand we work with — and that connection deserved space rather than a logo in the footer.
Mobile-first around the menu and the opening hours, with photography carrying the atmosphere instead of a paragraph of adjectives.
Type does a lot of the work. The brand has a hand-drawn quality we kept in the display setting while holding the body copy plain and quiet, so the menu stays readable when somebody is squinting at a phone on the street.
Recognition — a place in the top brunch rankings — is presented as a fact rather than a badge carousel. It is more persuasive stated once, plainly.
The result is fast, single-purpose, and reads as an extension of the room rather than a listing entry.
The team updates the menu themselves, which matters more than any launch-day metric. A restaurant site decays the moment editing becomes somebody else's job.
